Uglies

The story is set in the future. There are 3 different places where the story takes place, the uglyville, the smoke, and the new pretty town. There are also types of people in this story. The uglies, and the pretty’s. So uglys are basically normally everyday people in the modern society we live in. And pretty’s are basically us but have fun everyday… so far. So in the future, people under 16 are called uglies and spend their lives in uglyville. When they turn 16 they go under surgery to become pretty. Then the spend their lives in new pretty town. Tally is out main character and lives in uglyville. She's excited to turn 16 so she can go under the surgery to turn pretty. But when she's waiting to turn 16, she friends a person called shay. They go to the outer borders of there town and go to ruins which is our modern society but destroyed, because it's set in the future. Shay tells Tally that she wants to run away into the smoke. The smoke is basically a place where people run too if they don’t want to become pretty. Shay tells tally she wants to go there because some of her friends go there. Tally doesn’t want to run away, so they split up, shay goes to the smoke and tally goes to become pretty. Before Shay leaves, she leaves a not for tally that says the location of the smoke. When the day comes for her surgery, she doesn’t go to the hospital, she goes to some place where they hold specials. Specials are basically prettys but the FBI. The head of the specials, Dr Cable asks Tally to reveal the location of the smoke. If she doesn't, she won’t become pretty. The Specials give her a necklace that sends a beacon to them when activated. So she goes to the smoke, but turns out it's pretty nice there. So she decides to not rat them out and throws the device into the fire. Turns out that activates it and the Specials come the next day and everybody is captured. They are transported back but tally somehow escapes and meets up with David. Now I gotta explain David’s parents. David’s parents discovered that when they turn you pretty, they implant something into your brain that basically makes you not think right and only wants you to think FUN. David was born in the smoke and never has seen uglyville or new pretty town. While everybody was being captured, david was out of the smoke thinking or something. Anyway, david and Tally meet up and go back to the special building and meetup with shay, but she's been turned pretty. Turns out a lot of the smoke people have been turned people. Anyway they take the remaining few and escape to the ruins. Turns out david's parents have invented a pill to reverse the effects of the thing implemented into the brain of pretty people. No one wants to volunteer themselves become pretty to test the pill, until tally does. And that's where the book ends.
